| s t a y - t r u e - t o - y o u | “Occasionally, weep deeply over the life you hoped would be. Grieve the losses. Then wash your face. Trust God. And embrace the life you have.” ~John Piper — It’s been a year, one month, and 10 days of freedom from a man who abused me, stole everything from me, and left my life, and business in ruins. A blessing in the form of pain, extreme change, uprooting, and re-setting from a life that was never meant for me. Sometimes we forget how far we’ve traveled while we’re looking ahead to the next steps. Today I remember what it took for me to get this far… And though I don’t feel as far along as I hoped I’d be, I’m thankful for where I am. Thankful for those karmic hoops I’ve jumped through, all those things I’ve overcome, and the people who supported me along the way. Today I remind myself of how much courage it took for me to wake up every day, to lift myself up everyday. To choose daily to let go of everything he took from me. Everyday I made this choice to rise above it. Today I’m grateful for what I’ve braved through this journey. Today I say ‘thank you’ to the inner spirit, guiding light, and strength within that somehow reminded me everyday that I was worth fighting for. That I could survive. Last year I was left with nothing. $85 to rebuild my life. If I could do it. Anyone CAN do it. When you find yourself with nothing, remember that YOU are worth fighting for. That everyone… Everyone’s worth fighting for. Stay True To You, and you WILL RISE again.
